with Nabi Abdurakhmanov

Friday, September 6, 2024

A unique opportunity to study with the second-generation student of Stanislavski himself, Nabi Abdurakhmanov, in a course that takes its roots in the core aspects of the Stanislavski system.

For any actor - movement is crucial during a performance. This class breaks down the use of music and space as if they were active stage partners.

This is not a dance class.

This is an intensive that focuses on movement through the Stanislavski system. The class will focus on conveying and developing the story truthfully through the use of stage space and non-verbal techniques.
Learn to allow movement through space further the plot of the story without a single word. The class utilizes Lev Tolstoy’s short story Kholstomer, The History of a Horse, as well as The Little Match Girl.

The goal of this class is to bring out the earnest craft of the modern-day actor, shaping them into the best performer they can be for the modern theater world. Contemporary theater has many faces and forms of presentation. Yet, the Stanislavski system still lies at the core of all modern theater work, as his method aims to fill the character with life and truthful, powerful, meaningful choices. The methods of Konstantin Stanislavski currently lie at the heart of every known acting technique - from Stella Adler to Sanford Meisner to Lee Strasberg.

Nabi Abdurakhmanov’s courses provide a unique opportunity to dive into the classic training, but with a modern approach that current-day theater demands of its actors in every story, stage, or film. Now, Nabi Abdurakhmanov is a world-renowned director with decades of experience running a theater and producing plays in different parts of the globe, including Germany, Uzbekistan, France, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, Russia, Israel, and Egypt.
