54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, presents J. Elaine Marcos in What I Did for…a Job on Tuesday, December 3rd at 9:30 PM ET. With ten Broadway shows under her belt, J. Elaine Marcos is a veteran of the industry and a bona fide triple threat known for her scene stealing roles. What I Did For… A Job is Marcos’ hilarious, heartfelt one-woman show that reveals her rule-breaking approach to auditioning while retracing her unique journey of crossing cast-ing barriers to find success on stage and screen. Marcos, currently in DRAG: the Musical, has starred in some of Broadway’s most exciting musical revivals of the last twenty years, including Flower Drum Song with Lea Salonga, Sweet Charity with Christina Applegate, A Chorus Line with Mario Lopez, and as Lily St. Regis in Annie opposite Jane Lynch’s Miss Hannigan. Her on-screen work includes Fox’s Rent: Live and comedic stints in “Grace and Frankie,” “30 Rock," and “2 Broke Girls.” Andrew Orbison, the musical director (DRAG: The Musical), and the very talented Ryan Duncan (Shrek The Musical, Gettin’ the Band Back Together, Distant Thunder off-Broadway, Maggie at Goodspeed Opera House, Altar Boyz off-Broadway) will join her on stage.
J. Elaine Marcos in What I Did for…a Job plays 54 Below (254 West 54th Street) on Tuesday December 3rd at 9:30 PM ET. Cover charges are $29 (includes $4 in fees) - $40 (includes $5 in fees). With extensive credits on Broadway and in film and television, AMDA alumna J. Elaine Marcos is known for her brilliant comedic timing and scene-stealing roles. Currently, she’s starring in DRAG: The Musical in New York. She just finished reviving the role of Sally in the 25th Anniversary revival of Reefer Madness in Los Angeles with Kristen Bell. This consummate artist and triple-threat got her professional start shortly after graduating from AMDA, when she starred in the national tour of A Chorus Line as Connie Wong, and revisited the iconic show, breaking down barriers as Valerie Clark at the New York City Center. On Broadway, J. Elaine made her debut in Miss Saigon and has been in 10 Broadway shows. J. Elaine’s film appearances include RENT: Live, Morning Glory, St. Vincent, Before I Disappear, and the critically acclaimed documentary Every Little Step, which chronicles the emotional audition process for the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line.
