Alumnus CASEY BURKE '20 stars in the US premiere of Bluebeard's Castle, a dark new musical that puts a twist on the French fairytale.
Following a successful run in Russia, Serbia, Montenegro and France, Bluebeard’s Castle graces the Odyssey as the American premiere of a medieval musical thriller. Immediately, we’re transported through the dark corridors of Bluebeard’s dwelling. We see stained glass, stained gowns, and a labyrinth of psychological knots for chewing. But what’s most perplexing is what we don’t see…the secrets Bluebeard keeps hidden…the doors he refuses to open, and the mysteries which turn one woman’s romantic plight into a horror-stricken tragedy. Don’t be fooled by its fairytale roots. This one is not for kids.
