An AMDA Exclusive Event! Industry Guest Discussion with Joshua Rappaport Please join us TODAY, July 14 at 5pm PST / 8pm EST for the latest event in our popular Artist’s Journey series, featuring an in-depth industry discussion with casting director JOSHUA RAPPAPORT. Joshua Rappaport, born and raised in Los Angeles, began his professional acting career in 1975 studying with Jeff Corey. He earned his SAG card in 1976. In 1986, Joshua got a call from Danny Goldman, one of the busiest commercial casting directors in Los Angeles. He asked Joshua if he had ever thought about running a casting session. He hadn’t. Danny invited Joshua to watch a session the next day, and the day after that he was running the session. Joshua proceeded to run casting sessions for Danny and with various other commercial casting directors for the next 20 years. During that time, he continued to grow and develop as an artist. He studied with Roy London, wrote for television and directed theater. In 2009, Joshua opened Casting Brothers with Alan Kaminsky, and they have continued to thrive in the commercial world. He's been involved in the casting of thousands of commercials, viewing countless individual auditions. Joshua still finds working with actors to be the best part of his job. He will discuss self-taping vs. live auditions, headshots, résumés, demo reels and the casting process as a whole. CLICK HERE to register for tonight's exciting discussion through Zoom! |
